In July this year, Carl F Groupco partnered with Yale to supply the leading lock manufacturer’s full product range. The announcement was the latest in a series of developments by Carl F Groupco that maintained the company’s position at the forefront of the UK’s Fenestration hardware market.

Commenting on the importance of the partnership with one of the biggest brands in the lock industry, Carl F Groupco’s Managing Director John Crittenden said: “This is a strategic move for Carl F Groupco and we are excited to be working closely with Yale as this will result in the introduction of new products, future product developments and testing, which will ensure continued advancements for our customers.

“The Yale brand has instant consumer recognition along with excellent product and security guarantees. This is a great fit with Carl F Groupco’s philosophy of supplying secure fittings backed by strong warranties that our customers can trust.

“The fact that Yale products are designed for the UK market and the majority are developed and manufactured in Britain resonates with many of our customers and supports our On Time in Full delivery ethos.”

The relationship between Carl F Groupco and Yale has been strong for many years with the established hardware distributor supplying various Yale ranges.

High Performing Products

Yale’s new Lockmaster 21 has been added to Carl F Groupco’s catalogue.

A long-standing product line featured in Carl F Groupco’s catalogue is the Defender Friction stay which, providing latest building regulations are met, can be fitted for emergency exit applications. The high performing friction stay achieves enhanced weather sealing by means of an extended enclosed end cap and asymmetric location system for reliable weather sealing to BS6375-1.

Other Yale products that Carl F Groupco has offered for a number of years are the window and door furniture ranges previously produced under the Trojan brand. The full range of window and door products is supplied, with the PAS 24 accredited hardware being particularly successful including the Sparta 2* TS 007 handle and the Unicorn TS 008 letterplate.

In 2017, Carl F Groupco added Yale’s Conexis L1 Smart Keyless Locking Handle to its SmartSecure offer. Ideally suited to retrofit installations, the addition to the company’s portfolio enhanced the company’s range of Smart options and increased its Smart Tech offer. New markets for SmartSecure, the company’s electronic door locking and access control brand, were opened up as any 92mm PZ door lock can easily be upgraded to incorporate the system, whether retrofit or a new door.

Since the new partnership has been established between the two brands, new additions to Carl F Groupco’s range include Yale’s patio door lock. Employing high performance bi-directional locking technology, the anti-slam lock – which is designed for sliding doors, is offered with six hooks with the option of shootbolt locking for enhanced security.

Another recent addition for Carl F Groupco customers is Yale’s Lockmaster AutoEngage Multipoint door lock. Developed to complement contemporary and heritage door styles, the automatic multi-point lock mechanism instantly engages security latches from independent trigger points as the door closes – removing the need to lift the handle.

Yale’s new Lockmaster 21 has also been added to Carl F Groupco’s catalogue of over 7,000 product lines. Celebrating 21 years since the launch of the Lockmaster, the new product is Yale’s latest advancement to its established Lockmaster multipoint door lock range. The Lockmaster’s signature hook and pin unit has been positioned within 100mm of the pre-compression rollers which aids security testing. Additionally, the centre case has been strengthened to protect against latest break in methods and pre-compression rollers engage slightly ahead of the security locking points to ensure smooth engagement and reliable locking.

The faceplate of the door lock is manufactured from stainless steel which improves durability and aesthetics while enabling Yale to improve their manufacturing process and reduce the carbon footprint. As with all Lockmaster door locks, the new product is British built including metal pressing, die casting, injection moulding and assembly which are all carried out at Yale’s UK headquarters.
