Sarah Ball, organiser of the glazing industry’s networking group, PiGs, says: “It’s time to say goodbye to the dog and welcome in the Year of the Pig. And as far as we are concerned – this looks likely to be the biggest year for PiGs, the People in Glazing Society, so far.

“Philip Dewhust Jr, Commercial Director at The Georgian Bar Company sent a message to me from Hong Kong with a reminder that we are entering the Year of the Pig!

“The Chinese certainly understand the character traits of PiGs: chivalrous, optimistic and frank. Pigs are kind and loyal friends and light of heart although sometimes they can be a little too trusting. I can say hand on heart we all know people in the industry like this!”

2019 looks like it’s going to be a great one. Let’s hope that the Beast from the East doesn’t reappear as we kick off with a busy event in Manchester on 7 March 2019. PiGs already has 100 people signed up – and there is still a month to go. There’s normally a surge of signups in the last 4 weeks.

It’s an eclectic mix of the industry. There are editors from the press, and all parts of the supply chain will be represented, plus machinery and ancillaries.

Sarah adds: “Our superstar sponsors have come out in force to support Manchester PiGs. They are: AluFoldDirect, All Glass Facades, Anglo European, APS Aluminium & Plastic Solutions, Bison Frames, Build Show, Carl F Groupco, CURA Glass, Danvac, Double Glazing Blogger, Edgetech UK, Emplas, ERA Security, Extrudaseal, Fenster Fabrications, Fire Glass UK, Georgian Bar Company, Glass and Glazing Federation, Glass and Glazing Products, Glass Times, Glazpart, Improveasy, Independent Network, Kawneer, Kommerling, Korniche, Kubu, Masterframe, Morley Glass, Premier Conservatory Supplies, Regalead, Selecta Systems, Senior Architectural Systems, Stuga, Supalite, Thermoseal Group, The Consultancy, Titon, Total Hardware, Unique Window Systems, VEKA, Whizzle, Window News, Window Ware and Yale. We couldn’t run these events without you – and you deserve massive thanks! All the money from our sponsors goes towards food and drink – Balls2 Marketing organises the events FREE for the industry. It’s our way of giving something back. That means every email you get, every tweet, post on Facebook, and mention in the press is done by a member of our team.

“Manchester is a fabulous venue. The food is always excellent at The Castlefield Rooms and there will be money behind the bar to get the evening off to a good start. Late arrivals might find that the bar has run out – so be warned!”
