Composite doors are the most popular type of entrance door in the UK. But Nathan Barr, Managing Director of ODL Europe, sounds a note of caution. “Composite doors provide the level of performance homeowners are looking for. But if you want customers who are still delighted with you and your work years after the job completed, you need to choose your composite door range with care.”
Nathan highlights the benefits of the new Capstone SecureDesign™ Door Slab and says ambitious businesses looking to build long term customer satisfaction and growth need to take a look at what it has to offer.
He says: “The Capstone Door Slab has got a worldwide pedigree and has proved itself time and time again. And in the Capstone SecureDesign™ Door Slab, the best just got better.”
The aesthetics, quality and durability of the slab are second to none. It features a high-density polyurethane foam core which has been designed and engineered for the best flowability of the foam, reducing possible foam voids, bulging and uneven surfaces. The use of polypropylene eliminates water absorption, so the doors will not bulge or rot, even if water intrudes through openings from seals failing on glass or letterplates. The SecureDesign™ boards are injection moulded to the specific design so you get the same specifications and consistent performance in every door. Plus, the woodgrain is taken from real oak woodgrain with the stain being applied by hand for superb aesthetics. And the finish achieves some of the UK’s best adhesion and UV stability ratings too.
Security is similarly outstanding. The SecureDesign™ door slab is built into the door so it’s an integral part of the door core, rather than ‘floating’ in it. The improved foam flowability creates fewer areas of vulnerability. Overall, the Capstone SecureDesign™ Door Slab easily passes the cut through test and more than meets the requirements of PAS 24:2016.
Importantly, despite the innovation in the new slab, it’s similar in weight to LVL and machines like LVL. It means fabricators can retain a consistent fabrication practice but achieve an improved quality of door.
Nathan concludes: “The Capstone SecureDesign™ Door Slab from ODL Europe shows it’s what on the inside that counts and gives fabricators and installers clear points of differentiation when promoting to their customers.”
