Specialist fabricator Mercury Glazing has just given an insight into the popularity of its newly launched VEKA FlushSash window by releasing a few pieces of sales information. Sales in the first week exceeded £20,000 and enquiries have totalled over a quarter of a million pounds so far!
Chris Reeks, Mercury’s Sales and Marketing Director, commented: “The VEKA FlushSash is an exceptional product that we’re proud to have in our portfolio. It has all the heritage looks of a nineteenth century window that sits flush within its frame and is virtually indistinguishable from the timber equivalent, yet has all the thermal efficiency benefits of a modern PVC-U window. We always knew it would fill a sizeable niche in the market and we are being proved right based on our experience to date.”
However, what really sets the window apart is its compliance with Document Q. Chris explains: “We use Securistyle stays and the Maco locking system on the window as a standard. When coupled with Maco hinge protectors the product becomes Document Q compliant, suitable for use in Newbuild applications too.”
The sales efforts so far are already allowing Mercury a valuable insight into market trends in the heritage sector. Chris says that the coloured foil options are proving particularly popular, especially the white foil option that emulates traditional painted timber. Also very much in demand are monkey tail window handles and Astragal bars to complete the heritage appearance.
Despite the success of the FlushSash, Mercury is already planning its next move to stay ahead of the curve. Chris says: “We are already looking to build upon the interest with a view to offering a mechanically jointed outer frame option, and are reviewing an option whereby we can provide an aesthetically pleasing fully mechanically jointed frame and sash window.”
Mercury Glazing is a specialist trade fabricator. Alongside the VEKA Halo FlushSash it also fabricates the Spectus vertical slider, timber vertical slider windows, aluminium commercial products and aluminium residential products. It’s got a great – and growing – reputation for delivering what’s needed. And if the success of the FlushSash and the plans that are already forming to offer a little bit extra are anything to go by, it’s a reputation that’s well-deserved.
