Welcome to the February Edition of Glass News
Still debating the most popular colour choice for windows? Analysis of over 375,000 PVCu casements quoted by installers on Tommy Trinder’s platform in 2023 underlines the importance of colour; only 63% of PVCu casements quoted in the year were white. Grey, in many shades, continued to dominate in 2023; the preferred finish for 1 in 5 casements with Anthracite (10%) and Agate (5%) still topping the charts. But overall, the Tommy Trinder data paints a picture of a highly fragmented colour pallet with installers presenting a dizzying array of choices to homeowners.
And when it comes to door trends? DoorCo Marketing Manager, Ellie Pool, gives us an insight into what’s upcoming and trending for 2024 in the composite door market and how traditional doors are leading the way. When it comes to discussing door trends, it’s usually more contemporary designs that lead the discussion and we’ve seen lots of investment in innovation to support the drive for more modern looking homes in the UK. However, when you look at the sales stats, Traditional has always taken top billing.
Glass News’ Editor, Chris Champion, poses the question to GQA Qualifications’ Dan Brown: “We know GQA delivers training and qualifications to the fenestration industry but GQA does much more than that – can we discuss that?” Read it all in this edition.
As always enjoy this edition.
