One of Scotland’s most sustainable door and window companies has once again made the shortlist in the prestigious Vision in Business for the Environment of Scotland (VIBES) Awards.

CMS Window Systems manufactures and installs PVCu, aluminium and timber aluminium composite windows, doors and curtain walling systems, as well as installing cladding systems and external wall insulation (EWI). It has been shortlisted in the Management SME award category in the VIBES Awards 2015, a feat it has achieved four times in the last seven years.

The prestigious awards programme has been recognising the commitment, actions and achievements of Scottish companies in reducing their impact on the environment for 15 years.

This year’s VIBES shortlist includes a diverse range of companies from across Scotland which have employed environmental best practice in their day-to-day activity to cut down on resource use, increase sustainability, improve reputation and improve the company’s bottom-line.

Andy Kerr, managing director at CMS says: “It’s fantastic to be recognised by the VIBES Awards judging panel again this year as we continue to review and enhance our environmental performance in every aspect of our business. This is central to our corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability ethos in its broadest sense, which has always been at the heart of our business, often exceeding best practice to in areas such as recycling and energy efficiency.”

Based at Castlecary near Glasgow, CMS operates a 15-acre HQ and manufacturing facility as well as a recycling plant in Fife. It also recently created an Innovation Hub – a new facility dedicated to advancing and facilitating the debate and progress towards the successful delivery of sustainable homes and buildings. Open for use by any independent organisation serving the building and housing sectors, the Innovation Hub combines state of the art conference, seminar and meeting spaces with an extensive showroom and exhibition zone in which visitors can explore the technology that goes into today’s advanced window, door, insulation and ventilation solutions.

In addition to providing a showcase for the range of window and door options provided by CMS, this showroom is unique in featuring displays from its supply chain manufacturers whose products are integral to CMS producing finished products of the absolute highest specification.

The winners of this year’s categories will be announced at a special ceremony taking place on 26 November at the Sheraton Hotel in Edinburgh.

CMS has enjoyed success previously at the VIBES Awards:
