As Dekko Window Systems celebrates another record year, Sales Director Kurt Greatrex explains to Glass News how the Greater Manchester fabricator has achieved a fantastic 2018.

“There’s no secret to it, it’s all down to good products, good practice and some fantastic customers” said Kurt when asked how one of the country’s leading and most trusted fabricators, has seen year-on-year growth since it was founded by Kurt and Gary Torr just over 10 years ago and is now celebrating another record year.

There are several reasons why the trailblazing premium fabricator continues to stay ahead of the competition.

High-end brands

With premium products including the completely seamless uPVC range Infinity, Räum aluminium the Residence Collection, the UK’s leading range of timber-effect windows, and bespoke installer marketing package Make It Yours, it is no surprise Dekko have taken the industry by storm in recent years.

It has been Dekko’s premium aluminium range Räum that has provided the biggest contribution to the company’s record year, and Kurt said: “The brands and products we supply provide installers with the perfect route into the high-end home improvement market. Providing them with everything they need, coupled with our reliable service and fast turnarounds, is what we believe sets us apart.”

Investing in the business

While it all sounds simple enough, Dekko have put an awful lot of work and investment into the company to keep it at the forefront of the industry.

Earlier this year Dekko invested in a new Graf Cill Welder to add a high-end, premium finish to their window cills as standard, manufacturing 95mm stub cills and both 150mm and 180mm cills with a completely seamless weld, and a second one will be arriving at their Manchester headquarters ready for the new year.

Kurt said: “The new cill welder has meant we can add a high-end, premium finish to our Infinity range of uPVC windows and Residence Collection, creating high-quality, seamless window systems that are even more desirable and deliver even greater margins for our customers.

“Cutting edge machinery is just one of the many ways we ensure we can always meet the needs of installers.”

Customer care

While Dekko’s brands set them apart, their success can also be traced to an unshakable commitment to their customers, providing them with everything they need to succeed.

This was in evidence at a three-day event in Belgium that Dekko organised earlier this year when they took 60 of their installer customers on a trip to the global headquarters of both Deceuninck and Reynaers to give them an insight into the origins of their product lines and future developments.

Kurt said: “The trip was a great way to showcase both Deceuninck and Reynaers to customers, but it was also a wonderful opportunity to listen to our customers and get an idea of what they want in the future.

“Our customers are valued partners and it’s important that we cater for their every need. Our Make It Yours bespoke installer marketing package is one perfect example of our commitment to going the extra mile to provide them with all the support they need to thrive in what is a competitive market place.

2019 and beyond

It has been Dekko’s ability to identify emerging trends over the years that has kept them ahead of the competition and product development will be on the agenda again next year.

They will be exhibiting at the FIT Show to showcase their complete range of premium products, including Infinity, Räum aluminium, the Residence Collection and Make It Yours.

“The industry is growing and changing all the time, so you can’t stand still,” explained Kurt. “We have kept moving with the times and our product development has been a major contributor to our year-on-year growth.

“Premium, high-end products were the way forward this year and we expect this to continue in next year. We are looking forward to welcoming many more customers to Dekko in 2019.”
