The new showroom, in the busy market town of Rayleigh is some 5 miles from Thermoshields main showroom and factory. Sales & Marketing Manager, Paul Standen, said “It was decided that the company would benefit from a High Street presence to boost our retail division. We looked at quite a few locations before deciding on Rayleigh. Important considerations for us were the demographic of the local population, passing trade and the corner position which offered a return frontage for maximum exposure” Paul continued, “We intend to offer our customers not only the Thermoshield range of high quality windows, doors and conservatories, but also some great new technological products such as biometric locks, switchable “smart” glass and LED conservatory lighting. We hope to have these products in the window soon!”
The showroom has a range of Thermoshields windows and doors on display, along with professional window care products. It is arranged in brick built house setting areas to let customers see how the window or door looks in a realistic way, rather than just being displayed on a rack. The planning team managed to incorporate casement windows, traditional vertical sliding sash windows, bi-fold, French and patio doors, front and back doors and 2 complete bay windows – one of which is fitted with maintenance free internal venetian blinds, a clever system which sees the thin slat blinds sandwiched between the glass in the window. Also on show is fascia, soffit and guttering in a selection of colours and styles.
Managing Director Neil Haylock said “I am delighted by the way the space in the new showroom has been used to create an opportunity for our customers to actually see, feel and try out the products we manufacture. It makes all the difference from seeing a window in a brochure to being able to use it as you would do at home”
Thermoshield are one of the longest established double glazing companies in Essex. Many companies in this field declare a lengthy pedigree, but unlike others with longevity claims,
Thermoshield have been doing the same thing, manufacturing and installing, since 1983. They operate in both the retail and commercial arenas, besides having a dedicated service division which ensures a prompt response to service calls.
Despite all the doom and gloom about the state of the economy, the company believe there is still money about. Financial Director, Scott Austen, commented “Our commercial division is going from strength to strength with work coming in from our established clients ranging from councils to private housing associations. We are also seeing an increase in new customers who want the security of dealing with a well established company”
